The Olympic Games is the most famous international sporting event in the world. In July 2005, London won its bid to bring the 2012 Olympics to the UK, making it the only city ever to have hosted the event three times. From 26 July to 12 August 2012, London will use existing and temporary facilities as well as newly built structures to contain spectators for 26 sports and nearly 400 events.
