This is Europe’s biggest pro-am tournament, involving many of the top players and A-list celebrities. Involving 156 teams of one professional and one amateur contesting the first three rounds over the Old Course, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns on the first three days of the tournament. Some of the 2009 golfing stars included Padraig Harrington, Colin Montgomerie, and Rory McIlroy while previous celebrity competitors included Hugh Grant, Samuel L Jackson, Michael Douglas and Shane Warne.
